If you're thinking about booking a Boudoir Photography Session, chances are you've got a few nerves. That's completely normal. Almost every client who walks through our doors says some version of the same thing: "I have no idea what to expect."
So let's take the mystery out of it. Here's exactly what a Boudoir session with us actually looks like, from the moment you enquire to the moment you see your photos for the first time.
Before Your Session: The Consultation
We start with a design consultation, either in the studio, on Zoom or over a call. This is where we talk about what you want - your vision, your comfort level, your must-haves and your absolute no's.
Nothing is assumed, and nothing is off the table. If you want full lingerie, gorgeous dresses, or something completely nude, that's your call, it's your photoshoot. I will work with your comfort level and your expectations.
We'll also chat through outfits, and if you don't have anything you love yet, we have a small wardrobe of boudoir basics you can borrow on the day to add to your own selections.
On the Day: Hair, Makeup and Settling In
You'll be treated to professional hair and makeup before we even pick up the camera. This isn't just about looking good in photos - it's about walking into the shoot already feeling like a different version of yourself.
I will be with you the entire time, so by the time we get to the photoshoot we'll be new besties. No awkward silences, no feeling like a piece of meat in front of a stranger. Just me hyping you up.
The first five minutes are always the most nervous. By minute ten, most clients are laughing, dancing between shots and forgetting the camera is even there.
During the Shoot: You're in Control
I will guide you through every pose, every angle and every bit of lighting - you don't need to know how to model, I will show you how to do all the right poses and agles.
You can change your mind at any point. Want to cover up more? Done. Want to push past your comfort zone a little further than planned? I will gently encourage you there too, at your pace. I will simply ask you along the way what you want to do.
Nothing extraordinary ever happens in your comfort zone, but you will never be pushed you somewhere you don't want to go.
to do something you don't want to do.
After Your Session: Seeing Your Photos
After your session, we will take a short break, and I'll get you some refreshments so you can take a a few minutes to relax before we go through your photos. This is the moment almost every client says is more emotional than the shoot itself.
This is when it clicks. You'll look at the images and, more often than not, hear yourself say, "I didn't know I could look like that."
You'll then choose your favourites and the keepsakes you want to remember the experience by, whether that's a printed album, wall art, or something just for you.
So, What Should You Actually Expect?
You should expect nerves in the beginning. You should expect to feel a little vulnerable. But you should also expect an experience that's more fun, more supportive and more transformative than you imagined — and photos that remind you exactly how incredible you are.
If you've been putting off booking because you don't know what you're walking into, now you do. So what's stopping you?
